In this second session in the yoga nidra audio course you learn how to dis-identify with the five senses and the oscillating tendencies of the gross conscious mind. We will begin by perceiving the sounds in our environment from a detached third party perspective, as though we have never heard each sound before.

By learning to listen to the raw textures of each sound without any judgment, or concern for their source or implications, we can go beyond the mind’s habitual tendency to project it’s likes and dislikes on our environment. Thus, opening you up to experience the raw beauty latent in all nature on earth and throughout the entire universe without the filtration system of the conscious mind.

Deeper into the practice we will become aware of the pairs of opposites attached to the five-senses, such as heaviness and levity, heat and cold, pain and pleasure. This process gradually trains the mind to become detached from the dualistic experience of the senses and become centered on the changeless reality of the silent witness within; whose nature is peace, bliss and equanimity.

These are the authentic and traditional yogic techniques for traversing deep within your inner being, and discovering the immense inner peace and joy that is the nature of your jivanatman, your very own inner self.
